International Asansör İstanbul took place for the 18th time this year with the participation of a total of 363 companies from Turkey and abroad, and exceeded its number of visitors of 2022 to become the largest event in its region, including Europe. The four-day fair was attended by 6,906 foreign visitors from different continents, including Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt, Algeria, Lebanon, Libya, Kosovo and Kazakhistan. A total of 24,314 professionals followed the fair. Getting stronger every year, the International Asansör İstanbul will have its next edition in May 2025.
Held by Tarsus Fuarcılık with the support of AYSAD (Association of Elevator and Escalator Industrialists), the 18th International Asansör İstanbul exceeded expectations once again. The event took place in 8 halls at Tüyap Beylikdüzü Exhibition Center, where faster and safer elevator technologies were exhibited. The fair became the largest event in its region in terms of square meters, number of exhibitors, and visitor numbers from Turkey and abroad. This year, our motto was "New world, new opportunities". Asansör İstanbul 2023 has more than realized all the achievements promised by this message. Zekeriya Aytemur, General Manager of Tarsus Fuarcılık, indicated, "Every edition adds new visitors, most of whom are buyers, from different countries, to the portfolio of Asansör İstanbul, and it definitely takes its place on the fair agendas of industry professionals." Mr. Aytemur announced that they received a great number of applications for the edition in 2025 during the fair.
The elevator world met in Istanbul!
The Asansör İstanbul 2023 was attended by elevator assembly, contracting and maintenance companies, elevator component manufacturers and suppliers, contracting and construction companies, apartment managers, building owners, elevator users, project, architecture, engineering and consultancy companies, foreign procurement committees, certification bodies, NGOs, public institutions and academics. The fair exhibited innovations in all vertical transportation technologies, escalators and speedwalks, including residential and commercial building elevators, hospital elevators, domestic elevators and personal carriers, automobile elevators, freight and service elevators, and elevators for disabled.
Elevator standards suitable for earthquake zones were discussed
This year's main agenda item of the conference program of the 18th International Asansör İstanbul was "SEISMIC REGIONAL ELEVATORS". As part of this agenda item, a panel, "Elevators and Buildings Subject to Seismic Conditions" was moderated by Sefa Targıt, Vice President of the Turkish Machinery Federation (MAKFED). Esfandiar Gharibaan, CEN European Standards Committee TC 10 Chairman, Paolo Tattoli, CEN Seismic Region Elevators Committee and Italy UNI/CT 019 Chairman, Prof. Dr. Erdem IMRAK, Faculty Member of Mechanical Engineering at ITU, and Dr. Ferhat Çelik, the European Elevator Association's (ELA) Component Committee Member, shared information on "Elevators serving in earthquake zones, buildings, elevator-building relationship, operation and commissioning of elevators during an earthquake".
